James Marsden Knew About His ‘Westworld’ Return Back in Season 2: ‘It’s a Very Carefully Planned Artistic Journey’

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on James Marsden Knew About His ‘Westworld’ Return Back in Season 2: ‘It’s a Very Carefully Planned Artistic Journey’

James Marsden’s return to “Westworld” in Season 4 came as a delightful shock to many fans given his character’s death back in Season 2, but the actor has known about his return ever since he was first killed off. Creators and showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan sat Marsden down at the beginning of the HBO sci-fi series’ second season to tell him the story arc for Teddy, including his character’s death towards the end of the season. But at the same time, they told Marsden Teddy would return in Season 4.

“They sat me down before we shot one frame of film on Season 2 and before I’d read one page of a script and said, ‘Here’s what you’re doing all through Season 2, and then you go away in Season 3 and you come back in Season 4,’ and I’m like okay, you all have the whole thing mapped out,” Marsden told TheWrap in a recent interview about his return.

“It’s pretty brilliant. I know that they’re constantly evolving along the way and there’s obviously the rewrites here and there and scenes get moved around in the editing room, so it’s definitely a fluid thing, but the story, the themes that they want to explore and the overall macro story has always been intact there. They’re definitely not going figuring it out along the way. It’s a very, very carefully planned, artistic journey.”

James Marsden Says His Kids Are ‘Very Proud of Their Dad’ Amid ‘Sonic’ Success

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on James Marsden Says His Kids Are ‘Very Proud of Their Dad’ Amid ‘Sonic’ Success

It was a family affair at the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 premiere for James Marsden. ET’s Denny Directo spoke to the 48-year-old actor at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night, where he gushed over sharing the family-friendly sequel with his children.

“I feel like I am, but sometimes I get a little ahead of myself. We’ll see,” Marsden said about scoring cool points with his children, Jack, 21, Mary, 16 and William, 9, by bringing them to the premiere. “They’re very proud of their dad. And it’s fun to go see a movie that I can see and enjoy, my nine-year-old can see and enjoy, my 16-year-old, my 21-year-old. Good, family movie.”

For part two, Marsden and the Sonic the Hedgehog cast ventured out to Hawaii, which he called “the dream.”

Actors Ben Schwartz and James Marsden Talk New Movie ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on Actors Ben Schwartz and James Marsden Talk New Movie ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’

Opening in theaters on April 8th is the new movie ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2,’ which is a sequel to 2020’s ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ and is based on the popular Sega video game.

The movie once again stars Ben Schwartz (‘The Afterparty’) as the voice of Sonic, and adds to the cast Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails and Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles. Jim Carrey also returns as the villain Dr. Ivo Robotnik, as well as James Marsden and Tika Sumpter who reprise their roles as Tom and Maddie Wachowski, respectively.

The plot of the new film revolves around the return of Dr. Robotnik (Carrey), with his new ally Knuckles (Elba), determined to take over the Earth. Now, Sonic (Schwartz) and his new friend Tails (O’Shaughnessey) must stop them before they succeed in their plans for world domination.

James Marsden explains how ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2′ dials up the action and introduces new fan favorites

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on James Marsden explains how ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2′ dials up the action and introduces new fan favorites

“We find Sonic growing up a little bit, and we see shades of him starting to become a teenager and everything that entails,” Marsden told the Daily News. “Pressing the boundaries a bit more than he normally does, sneaking out at night and trying to be Batman, or Blue Justice as he calls himself.

“He wants to use his powers for good, but he’s still a little young to be doing it and rough around the edges.”

Zooming into theaters Friday, the movie picks up after the lightning-quick Sonic saved Earth in 2020′s original film by defeating Jim Carrey’s power-hungry mad scientist, Doctor Robotnik. In the sequel, the alien hedgehog must work again with Marsden’s Tom Wachowski — the sheriff in their small town of Green Hills, Mont. — after Robotnik returns with a fearsome new ally: the ultra-strong space echidna Knuckles.

James Marsden reveals he almost starred in Magic Mike: ‘Too scared

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on James Marsden reveals he almost starred in Magic Mike: ‘Too scared

James Marsden has had many memorable film and TV roles during his almost 30-year career – there’s The Notebook, The X-Men series and Westworld, to name a few – but the actor shared with us that he turned down what could have been his most popular film yet: Magic Mike.

The 48-year-old, who is currently starring in The Boss Baby 2: Family Business, revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle he was “too scared” to go through with the role, admitting it was a “tough” decision for him.

“It was a tough one for me because I was offered the role, and I decided not to do it because it felt like something that could have been cut out of the movie,” he told us. “And I was too scared that they would just cut my couple of scenes and I would still be in the movie as a pretty much naked extra, right?

Interview: James Marsden on recording The Boss Baby sequel during a pandemic; “I made a makeshift studio with duvets and pillows”

Crayen      interview      Comments Off on Interview: James Marsden on recording The Boss Baby sequel during a pandemic; “I made a makeshift studio with duvets and pillows”

Four years after an infant Alec Baldwin steered Dreamworks’ The Boss Baby to over half a billion dollars at the global box office and an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated feature, the troublesome tyke is back in The Boss Baby: Family Business, and he’s bringing his household along for the ride.

Joining Baldwin and fellow returning voice talents Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow is James Marsden, the actor voicing the character of Tim, the adult (but for too long) father at the centre of the latest shenanigans. As the film prepares for its Australian release, the actor chatted with our own Peter Gray about how being a father influences his roles, how it was to record during a pandemic, and where he sits with the streaming vs. cinema debate.

I will say one thing about The Boss Baby 2 in that it embraces such random, wild humour, and I really do mean that in the best possible way. It goes for it, in terms of its premise. How did you become involved with it?
