Crayen interview ,newsComments Off on James Marsden on why he picked ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ to follow up ‘Westworld’
TORONTO — James Marsden tries to avoid slipping down the rabbit hole of emotional darkness in his career — and after the latest season of dystopian series “Westworld” the actor needed a palette cleanse.
It’s one of the reasons Marsden says he signed onto “Sonic the Hedgehog,” a live-action and CGI animated flick based on the popular video game. While his character in the film is veiled in secrecy, he insists it’s nothing like Teddy, the robotic gunslinger he plays on TV.
“I always try and do the polar opposite of what I just finished, and ‘Westworld’ is a heavy show,” he says of the series, which finishes its latest season Sunday on HBO Canada.

James Marsden and “American Housewife” actress Julia Butters will join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” sources tell Variety.
Insiders would not reveal what roles Marsden and Butters will be playing.
Damian Lewis, meanwhile, will portray acting icon Steve McQueen, Luke Perry is Scotty Lancer, Emile Hirsch is hairstylist Jay Sebring, Dakota Fanning is Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme — a member of the Manson family — Clifton Collins is Ernesto the Mexican Vaquero, Keith Jefferson is Land Pirate Keith, and Nicholas Hammond is director Sam Wanamaker.

Crayen newsComments Off on James Marsden to Star in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Movie
“Westworld’s” James Marsden will star in Paramount’s live-action/animation hybrid movie “Sonic the Hedgehog,” an adaptation of the classic video game, sources tell Variety.
The studio landed the film rights to the classic game in 2017 and tapped Jeff Fowler to direct.
Neal H. Moritz, who recently signed a first-look deal with Paramount, is producing under his Original Film banner. “Deadpool” director Tim Miller will serve as executive producer, along with Toby Ascher. Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will co-produce.
Crayen newsComments Off on James Marsden in Talks to Star in Stephen King’s ‘In the Tall Grass’
James Marsden is in talks to star in the Netflix adaptation of thriller In the Tall Grass.
The 2012 novella, written by Stephen King and his son Joe Hill, follows a sister and brother who venture into a vast field of grass in Kansas after hearing a boy’s cries for help. The siblings soon discover that there may be no way out.
Splice filmmaker Vincenzo Natali is writing the script and is set to direct. Steve Hoban, Jimmy Miller and M. Riley will produce the film, which is scheduled to go in front of cameras this summer in Toronto.
Marsden, who can currently be seen in the second season of HBO’s Westworld, is repped by CAA and Authentic.
Crayen interview ,newsComments Off on Westworld’s James Marsden really hopes humans don’t become redundant
James Marsden is the poster boy for charming robots.
In Sydney this week to promote Westworld, he was on stage in front of a giant poster of himself playing sentient robot Teddy Flood in the HBO show. Marsden might have ditched the cowboy hat and stubble in real life, but he still looks like a theme park’s version of a perfect human.
But the good guy Teddy of season one (who died five times but was still so gosh-darn polite) has made way for a darker Teddy in season two. Now, his character is joining forces with other robot hosts on the show to rise up against the humans that run Westworld — and things are looking bloody. Hell yes.
Still, as his character rebels against his creators on screen, Marsden is hoping artificial intelligence doesn’t get that far in the real world.

Crayen news ,videoComments Off on James Marsden on His ‘Westworld’ Sex Scenes: ‘I Have Sex With My Eyes’
Westworld is coming back tomorrow but James Marsden, who plays Teddy in the series, is still questioning one thing: why hasn’t his character had a sex scene yet?
HBO is known for not shying away from nudity and racy sex scenes since it’s not constricted by strict FCC regulations. But Westworld, which has had some surprising twists in addition to those aforementioned risqué sex scenes, has not given Teddy one so far.
After trading non-descriptive spoilers about the show on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the two talked about the lack of sex scenes for Teddy.

Crayen interview ,newsComments Off on Once a Cowboy…OSU Alumnus James Marsden stars in the new season of ‘Westworld’ on HBO
James Marsden has had steady success since he left Oklahoma State University in the early 1990s to pursue an acting career. His work in projects ranging from musicals to action films to comedies has given him career longevity and kept him from being typecast in spite of his blue eyes and leading man looks. He recently talked with the Stillwater News Press about how he got his start in the business and his newest project.
Q: The story we hear is that you and your family were on vacation and you met Kirk Cameron and his sister Candace and that they encouraged you to come out and visit in L.A. and that was part of what got you out there. Is that correct?
Marsden: That’s exactly right. It was a sort of convergence of me discovering theater and what it feels like to be on stage at 15-16 years old, middle school, high school, and feeling pretty good at it, at least enjoying it and at the same time I was on vacation in Hawaii and I stayed at the same hotel as the Cameron family…We exchanged numbers, kept in touch and they invited me out to come stay with them and watch a taping of “Full House” and “Growing Pains” and I thought, “Wow, what a cool lifestyle this would be.” I already had the bug for performing and then on top of it that was my dream to be in TV and film. So I kept in touch with them and they encouraged me to come out and give it a shot…Otherwise I would have stayed in Stillwater and probably gotten my degree.
