Nearly a full year after the film’s trailer debuted online, Universal Pictures has announced that Erik Van Looy’s The Loft is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, August 29, 2014.

Karl Urban (Star Trek Into Darkness) and James Marsden (2 Guns) star in the psychological thriller, which tells the story of five married guys who conspire to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city–a place where they can carry out hidden affairs and indulge in their deepest fantasies. But the fantasy becomes a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in the loft, and they realize one of the group must be involved. Paranoia seizes them as everyone begins to suspect one another. Friendships are tested, loyalties are questioned and marriages crumble as the group is consumed by fear, suspicion and murder in this relentless thriller.

Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Isabel Lucas, Rachael Taylor and Rhona Mitra also star.

Even with all of the old and new mutants packing their way into “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” there’s still one hero who won’t reappear: James Marsden’s Scott Summers.

The Cyclops actor told Vulture he’s not appearing in director Bryan Singer’s new “inbetweequel,” although it’s clear he’s had conversations with the filmmaker.

“If this next film really works, Bryan has said he wants to fix a few things, so hopefully [Cyclops’ death] is one of them,” said the actor, who also appeared in Singer’s “Superman Returns.” “We’ll see. I always liked Cyclops, but they have a lot of characters that they have to parcel out, spend time with each one, make sure everyone feels like they’ve been given their due, introduce them appropriately, but you could do a spinoff of every one of those characters and give them so much depth to the story line.”

James Marsden, Wes Bentley, Joan Cusack and Alan Tudyk have joined the cast of “Welcome to Me” starring Kristen Wiig.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Robbins and Linda Cardellini also star. Shira Piven is directing from a script by Eliot Laurence.

The story follows a women who suffers from dissociative personality disorder and wins the lottery only to decide to spend her money on a cable access talk show about herself. The show reflects her larger-than-life personality and obsession with wanting to be famous, even if it means alienating her friends and family in the process.
